The Blackprint is a personal budgeting web application. The Blackprint is operated by Karolina Empire LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use The Blackprint. By using the app you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We collect the following information when you use The Blackprint:
We use the information we collect to:
We do not currently sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
We do not currently sell individual user data. In the future we may offer anonymized, aggregated data products derived from collective user patterns — such as spending trends by category or income bracket — with no personally identifiable information included.
If we introduce any such products we will update this policy and notify all users in advance via email. You will have the option to opt out at any time before any such change takes effect.
We will never sell your individual personal or financial records to third parties without your explicit consent.
Your data is stored securely on encrypted cloud infrastructure. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to your data is limited to your own account and, if you’ve linked a household partner, that partner — household accounts are designed to share access to the same household’s data.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Deletion is immediate — your data is permanently removed from our systems as soon as you confirm. We do not retain your personal or financial data after account deletion.
We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the application: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Plaid (bank account linking, if you choose to connect one), and Resend (transactional email). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to perform services on our behalf. We do not authorize them to use or disclose your personal information except as necessary to provide services to us.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, Karolina Empire LLC will notify affected users via email within 72 hours of becoming aware of the incident. The notification will include:
We will also take immediate steps to contain the breach, assess the scope, and work with our infrastructure providers to prevent recurrence. If the breach is caused by a third-party provider, we will coordinate with them and keep you informed.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You may update your profile information and household settings directly within the app, or request account deletion from the Settings page.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal data we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of data sharing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the date of the most recent revision.
